Like planters, anything that can hold things can be a bucket:
The Pressure Cooker Bucket: This cow feeds from the bottom half of a pressure cooker. It’s a perfect feed pail for a dusty paddock.
A pressure cooker bucket? Sure!
The Feed Sack Bucket: These handmade horse feeders from Upper Mustang, Nepal come from apricot sacks of woven plastic.

Shoe laces are repurposed as lashings that hang around the horse’s ears.

These portable feed bukets travel with us as we journey with pack horses into the upper reaches of the Himalaya.
Oats and corn go inside the sacks which are hung from the horses’ ears. The horses then toss the sacks in the air to get the grains into their mouths.

Other items I’ve seen used as buckets include large plastic wash basins, buiscuit tins, and large cooking pots. The next time you need a bucket, consider reusing something else before buying a new one. We have several more bucket ideas in our Trash Backwards app:
